Subject: Vancouver Harm Reduction INTERNSHIP!

Dear friends and colleagues

I wanted to make sure you received the attached applications forms for 6-week internships in Vancouver, Canada for NGO/civil society representatives in the harm reduction sector. I think this could be very helpful for some of the groups you work with – but note that the applicants must speak English. The first deadline has passed but we are now accepting late applications – so please encourage people to apply!

This internship is an opportunity for harm reductionists from around the world to spend a six-week internship with the PHS Community Services Society in Vancouver, Canada. For more information about the PHS, please follow this link to an interactive Prezi: http://prezi.com/ngwphuswfzwu/phs-at-osi/

This internship is for NGO staff, outreach workers, and activists in harm reduction and the health and human rights of people who use drugs. There is no requirement that an intern have a professional specialization. In fact, clinical professionals such as physicians and nurses may not practice in Canada and so this type of work is outside of the scope of this internship.

Interns will not receive financial compensation for their time or their work, but their transportation and lodging will be covered and they will receive a modest, daily per diem to cover their food and incidentals.

Please circulate this application form to people who you think will benefit from such an opportunity.

Warm regards,

Sarah
